Hot shooting from the three-point line in the second half (6-12) gave the Mustangs a win over the University of Nebraska - Kearney Saturday afternoon, 69-61. This is the Mustangs' third straight win and head into RMAC West Division play next weekend with a 5-10 record overall and a 3-4 record in conference play.

The Lopers had an 11-point lead midway through the first half, but WNMU battled under the basket and got four quick offensive rebounds, three from Shatwa Morris (Las Cruces, NM/Mayfield High School) (Las Cruces, NM). Off of those rebounds, WNMU tallied two quick put-backs to cut the lead to only three with five minutes to play.

WNMU walked into the locker room with a four-point deficit, 34-30.

Krystal Davis (Fort Worth, TX/North Crowley High School) (Fort Worth, TX) lit it up in the second half, going 4 for 7 from behind the arc. Audra Major (Socorro, NM/Socorro High School) (Socorro, NM) also found her hot hand. She snagged ten rebounds and posted ten points in the 18 minutes she played in the second half.

The Mustangs evened up the score with 15:15 left to play and never looked back.

Davis finished with 23 points and six rebounds. Major posted another double-double with 14 points and a whopping 18 rebounds. Ashley Vigil (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia High School) (Albuquerque, NM) also posted two double-digit categories with 13 points and ten assists.
